our president/founder
francis holmes
Born in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1974, Francis Holmes has been a resident of Durham, North Carolina since 1989. He is happily married to his wife, Jackie, and they have celebrated 15 years together. Francis is also a proud father to his daughter, Ava, and son, Sean.
Francis began his career in the dental laboratory field in 1994, working with a reputable laboratory company. Throughout his journey, he received extensive training from seasoned technicians and certified dental laboratory technicians, specializing in removable dental prostheses. His expertise encompasses a wide range of dentures, from basic options to fixed screw-retained varieties. With a focus on analog dental prostheses, he has dedicated the majority of his career to handcrafting these products, showcasing his meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality. He thrives on the challenge of creating something from scratch.
Over his 30 years as a lab technician, Francis has encountered a diverse array of cases and challenges, consistently demonstrating his problem-solving abilities. His skills were initially developed as an Eagle Scout and have been refined throughout his career. His extensive experience in analog casework has also provided him with valuable insights into the digital side of fabrication, which he has been actively engaged with for the past five years. With training in digital design and fabrication, he has achieved a healthy balance of knowledge in both analog and digital realms, ensuring accuracy and proficiency in his work.
Driven by a desire to escape the corporate atmosphere of larger lab companies, Francis decided to open his own laboratory. He values the experience gained in his previous roles, including that of a lab manager, which equipped him with the necessary skills to successfully manage and operate his own lab while also handling casework. After three decades in the dental laboratory field, he has learned valuable lessons about what to embrace and what to avoid. His mission in establishing his own lab is to prioritize quality over quantity, offering superior products at reasonable prices and with efficient turnaround times.

Our mission

ANALOG services
- Full and Partial Acrylic Dentures
Analog workflow is where everything is fabricated by hand. We start out by pouring the models you take of a patient’s mouth in a quality dental laboratory stone. We then do a bite verification to confirm the vertical and horizontal occlusion. We then articulate the models with the correct bite verification to get the proper jaw relationship. We will then set the prosthesis up with a variety of different types of teeth in wax. Your patient has the option of doing a wax try in or going straight process. If they decide to do a wax try in, the patient will try it in to verify proper occlusion and requested aesthetics. We will then process the case in the heat process method or pour method. Both are done with Lucitone acrylic. We will then finish and polish the case to your requested aesthetics. Then we will deliver the case to you. Most cases can be back to you in a few days.
DIGITAL services
- Full and Partial Dentures
- Night Guards
- Retainers
- Crowns, Bridges, Inlays, Onlays
Digital workflow is where everything is done on a computer and 3D-printed. We will be doing all our printing on Sprint Ray Pro 2 printers which are some of the newest and state-of-the-art dental laboratory printers. All our cases will be printed in either Sprint Ray high impact resins or Lucitone high impact resins. We will start by having you get us a digital scan of the patient’s mouth and bite relation and send us the case digitally through DDX. We will then design your case with 3Shape digital design software. This gives us a wide range of design options
and tooth molds to choose from. We can then print a 3D prosthesis for the patient to try in. If everything is to your liking, we can then print the final prosthesis in high impact resins and finish and polish the prosthesis to requested aesthetics.
